Creative Worship

Rabbi Judy has created hundreds of creative worship services for all sorts of occasions - Shabbat, Tot Shabbat, Havdalah, Purim, Pesach, Hanukah, Simchat Torah, Holocaust Remembrance and more. Her services are uplifting and inspiring and always include lots of music. She is able to provide music with or without instruments depending upon the setting and desires of the congregation. The photo below is from a Beatles themed Purim Shpiel presented at Temple B'nai Israel in Monroe, LA in 2019.

Rabbi Judy Ginsburgh

Worship Services at B'nai Israel, Monroe, LA

In Monroe, we have gone back to in-person worship services with COVID precautions in place. Rabbi Judy conducts services and Torah Study once a month and lay leaders at the synagogue lead services every other Shabbat. All services are streamed from our congregational webpage (www.bayoujews.org). For the schedule of services and to see when Rabbi Judy is in town, please contact 1868temple@gmail.com.
Shabbat services start every Friday at 6 pm CST. Shabbat Mishpocha (special services for families) and Torah Study are held on Saturday mornings when Rabbi Judy is in town. Our High Holy Day Services are open to all and no tickets are needed. Please bring an ID with you. You can attend either in-person or watch our stream from the Temple website. For the schedule, please visit our website (see above). Stay safe and healthy!

Healing

A large part of Rabbi Judy's rabbinate is spent visting the sick, comforting them and their families and helping them to heal or accept the inevitable end of life. Rabbi Judy uses her soothing voice and music abilities to help comfort those in need of healing.
Rabbi Judy is there to comfort families in times of need. She has conducted many funerals and unveiling ceremonies. She customizes and personalizes each service and includes the beautiful chanting of the El Male prayer. Rabbi Judy is always very conscious of explaining Jewish rituals and customs to those who attend so that everyone learns and feels comfortable. Below is a video of a healing service Rabbi Judy offered during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
